Renew will offer Greater Europe Mission (GEM) workers based in Europe an opportunity to rest, recharge, and reconnect with the Lord and their fellow GEM colleagues. The Renew Event Service Team has the special honor of supporting the GEM community through hospitality and children's ministry. Each team plays a vital role in the event’s success, ensuring that the missionaries leave refreshed and ready to return to their ministries with renewed energy. Please join this Service team to be a blessing to GEM missionaries and serve the Lord during this impactful event.
Volunteer Opportunities
The Renew Service Team is comprised of two teams: the Hospitality Team and the Children's Ministry Team.
The Hospitality Team will consist of 10-15 volunteers tasked with ensuring Renew runs smoothly. This team will assist by directing attendees to rooms and sessions, managing supplies and hotel-related needs, and handling various behind-the-scenes responsibilities. They will also serve as a resource for answering attendee questions and providing support throughout the event.
The Children’s Ministry Team will consist of 45-50 volunteers dedicated to supporting the Children's Ministry Directors in providing care for children ages 0 to 12. This team will help facilitate morning, afternoon, and evening sessions, which will include group worship, lessons, small group activities, crafts, playtime, and short outings around town. Our goal is to create a warm and engaging environment where children can have fun and grow, allowing parents the opportunity to relax and recharge.
General Information
Dates: May 28 - June 2, 2025
*Note that arriving in Europe on the 28th will require you to depart North America on the 27th.
Location: Egmond aan Zee, a seaside town in the Netherlands
Project Cost: $1240 USD per person plus airfare. This cost includes meals from dinner on the 28th through breakfast on the 2nd, transportation from the Amsterdam airport to Hotel Zuiderduin and back to Amsterdam, and accommodations. Please begin the application as soon as possible if you are interested in joining the team.
Application Approval and Commitment: Following your completion of an application and our approval of your application, you commit to joining the team by paying the deposit (details on the application page). Upon application approval, due to venue cancellation policies, your commitment is to pay the full cost of the trip, even if you cancel.
Greater Europe Mission Founding and Ongoing Impact
In 1944, GEM’s founder, U.S. Navy Chaplain Bob Evans, was injured by a landmine in southern France. During his recovery, he realized that many in France lacked a personal relationship with Jesus. This experience ignited his calling to bring the Gospel to Europe. A group of passionate missionaries, laypeople, and leaders rallied around his vision, and GEM grew from its evangelistic beginnings in France to reach across Western and Eastern Europe and even into North Africa. Today, building on this legacy, GEM partners with a wide range of ministries across Europe—Bible seminaries, churches, Christian camps, coffee shops, and more—each working to share the life-changing Gospel of Jesus Christ with the people of Europe.
