Thank you for your interest in serving at L’Arcada. Below you will find the list of requirements for completing the Background Check with Apostille Seal process.
- Step 1: Background Check Authorization (click here)
- – This online service is for US citizens. The cost is $25, payable by credit/debit card.
- – This form needs to be submitted within 90 days of your project start date.
- – For those from another country, please check with the L’Arcada Camp staff to find out about background check options available for your country.
- Step 2: Apostille Process – (click here for full instructions)
- – After your background check is completed, the GEM Teams office will email you a copy of your background check and the Notary Letter. You will be responsible to get the Notary Letter notarized and then apostilled.

- – Once notarized, you can send the Notary Letter and Background Check to your respective State Authentications office (more information can be found on the instruction sheet).

- – When you receive the paperwork back with the Apostille Seal, you will need to email a scanned copy of all the paperwork to shorttermvolunteers@gemission.org, AND you need to bring the originals with you to Spain.
