Compliant Teams Process
This page is intended for GEM Workers who are hosting a team or individual to serve alongside them. GEM’s compliance policies require that every individual serving alongside a GEM Worker must complete the full application process – including a background check, child safety training, insurance, and agreeing to GEM’s statements of faith and Christian conduct. This includes cases where you're taking a volunteer or team into another ministry context/location in Europe.
We are excited that you have a team or individual coming to serve alongside you in your ministry and GEM Teams is here to serve you through this process!
STEP 1
NOTE: This registration is completed by the GEM "host".
This registration form notifies GEM Teams that you are expecting a team or individual to serve alongside you in the near future.
Here are a few tips for running a successful short-term mission team. [Tips Link]
STEP 2
NOTE: The link above is the link you will share with your volunteers.
The application process is comprised of 4 parts:
- Online Form
- Background Check
- Child Safety Training
- Insurance
- GEM Teams will create an online “Tracking Sheet” for each project and is responsible for updating it as the application sections are completed by each volunteer. GEM Teams will also upload the online forms and references to a shared online folder with the GEM Worker.
- It is the responsibility of the GEM Worker (you) to read the online forms and references and “approve” the volunteers to serve with you. You are also responsible to let volunteers know when they are lacking items that need to be completed.
- Every volunteer will need to complete all the requirements to be cleared to serve with GEM.
** All parts of the application process should be started as soon as possible, and completed NO LATER than 1 month before the arrival date in Europe.
STEP 3
Finances
The project budget is created by and is the responsibility of the GEM Worker.
____________
For Compliant Teams, GEM Teams only processes the paperwork and completes the compliance process for the volunteers. If you feel like you need more help, visit our page on the GEM Insider to see more information about types of service we can provide.
