God has taken me on a journey beyond anything I could have imagined. I will share with you some of what I have been reflecting on and what God has been teaching me. It has been over a month since I have been back from a life changing adventure to Lesvos Island. Among many other things, what has stayed deeply rooted in me is the image of sheep and the shepherd. It was February 24, 2016. The day before, our team of sixteen men, women, and young adults had arrived on the island of Lesvos, just off the coast of Greece. We would spend the next two weeks serving and helping thousands of refugees and migrants that had fled their home countries of Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and other war torn countries… displaced people, young and old, seeking to escape the atrocities that were happening there. In desperation they left their homes, friends, and families with the hope of a better life and a place to live.
