Fellowship of the Mesogeion/TEFL – Athens
Ready to take the next step?
We would love to have you join us on an upcoming project. Please contact us to begin the process.
The Fellowship of the Mesogeion (Συντροφιά των Μεσογείων) is a church plant started four years ago by a Greater Europe Mission missionary with a group of Greeks. Their vision is to develop a vibrant community of people, who according to the principles of the Gospel, are with their lives and their activities, a dynamic and creative presence in the Mediterranean region. As the church has developed, it is characterized by being international, youth orientated, and uses camps to reach out to neighboring cities. All activities are held in the Greek language though there are many times 10 nationalities are present. The church meets at a Christian athletic center with various sports facilities available. They had their first English camp in June of 2013 and now have four camps each year. They have seen God use these camps to touch young people’s lives and then extend to their whole families as they are introduced to the Gospel.
Looking for North American volunteers, to teach English as camp counselors for the next TEFL Camp. This will be a TEFL project, in a camp setting, geared towards students aged 8-18. TEFL stands for Teaching English as a Foreign Language. As a whole, TEFL projects have huge impact in the community, opening a window of outreach opportunity for the church. It is presented in such a way as to engage learners in reading, writing, and speaking curriculum based on the Narnia movies. The only requirement for this teaching ministry is that the volunteers are competent in the English language.
Whether you have helping hands or professional skills they are welcome! Team members are needed in the following areas:
- Teaching English
- Youth Work
- General Outreach
- Worship leader/Musician
