In Oct.2016, my daughter Lauren and I were a part of a GEM team that served at the Dublin Christian Mission and the Lighthouse. We weren’t just a part of a team but very quickly became a part of a family. Lauren and I not only grew closer to each other as we experienced new things together, but we grew closer to Christ as we learned from our team leaders and other team members. It was awesome to see how God took seven people from different walks of life and used us to serve each other and the folks in Dublin. It was a huge encouragement to work alongside the volunteers at the Lighthouse and DCM as so many of them took the time to share with us how God had worked in their lives. I went expecting to help others but was surprised to find that in the serving, I was the one who was changed.
